page 33 lines 1-14:

The angel Gabriel confronts Pharaoh

He [Pharaoh] said, "All my deeds are sinful,
when I die I must accept my due punishment.
Apart from the One God, there is no other god,
the pride of the world is worthless, I want Him alone.
What is making me weep is this thought in my mind:
if only the River Nile had obeyed my command!"
The angel [Gabriel] said, "If you want to escape punishment,
sign here with your own hand.
God, the supremely wise One, acts with wisdom and cunning,
he can even capture an elephant with a spider's web.
He can speak without a mouth, strike without a hand,
who can understand their punishment from his hand?
He makes man's body out of water, a tree from a seed,
he makes the small grow great, and the great to destruction.....
